And just like that, the holiday season is upon us! I think every parent will agree that the days are long but the years are short. It's such a bittersweet saying that rings so true, especially once your children reach school age. The hamster wheel of life begins with school, homework, activities, dinner, bath, bed, repeat. Again. And again.
I admit. I hate it. I hate feeling like we're in a rat race. I hate being so scheduled. And I'm not exactly a morning person (though I do appreciate the calm and quietness of the early morning hours on occasion).
There are so many things to do and so little time. Every year I think we will spend a little longer doing some fun activities, maybe take a trip, do something unique. Then before you know it, December is half over and the calendar is filled with holiday events. I guess that's the makings of a New Year's Resolution.
